Windows Users: Your new 3TB SATA drive won’t be fully seen by Windows without changing it from an MBR format to a GPT format. Here are the 6 easy steps:
1. Open an elevated command prompt (right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator) and type diskpart.
2. At the DISKPART prompt, type list disk. Make note of the disk number you want to convert.
3. At the DISKPART prompt, type select disk <disknumber>.
4. At the DISKPART prompt, type clean.
5. At the DISKPART prompt, type convert gpt.
6. Under Disk Management, format as usual and enjoy your large HDD!
